Savour an authentic French Caribbean cooking demonstration, and rum tasting, in the picturesque ocean setting of one of St-Martin’s most beautiful beaches.
Sit back and enjoy a ride through the rolling landscapes, as you make your way to
‘978 Restaurant’ in Friars Bay. A reputable French-trained chef will demonstrate a typical French Caribbean cooking recipe, using local ingredients and regional spices, and create a special dish for you.
You’ll also watch a fascinating presentation on how the restaurant creates its own premium-flavoured rums. Following a century-old tradition, you’ll see the tropical fruits, spices and other exotic aromatics used in the process. Then you can taste some of the varieties, including one said to possess aphrodisiac properties.
After your culinary experience you can savour the restaurant’s breath-taking setting with some free time to enjoy the warm sun, crystal-clear sea and white powdery sand. Loungers and umbrellas are available to hire, and there are plenty of food and drink outlets, as well as souvenir stands, for additional purchases.
