Le Castellet is a superb little village perched on a wooded hill above the vineyards. Its medieval majesty and typical Provençal picturesque setting is sure to enchant you.
Enter Le Castellet by one of the two fortified gateways for a guided walking tour through the narrow streets and up to the castle, which is now home to the Town Hall. Upon reaching Trou de Madame, admire the unspoilt views inland towards Ste Baume Mountain and the rolling pastures leading to the Mediterranean. Enjoy some free time wandering through the wisteria and bougainvillea lined streets, browsing the craftwork stalls and art galleries or simply sample some home-made ice cream.
Sanary sur Mer is a lovely 16th century port town in the heart of Provence. This city of light and of contrasts welcomes you with its colourful façades and shaded walkways. The 13th and 14th century Roman Tower to defend the region, while the church bell of Notre Dame de Pitie was rung by a resident hermit to warn of enemy ships. Luckily your cruise ship is not classed as a foe, so you will be welcomed to spend time shopping.
