Port
Valencia, Spain
Activity Level
high
Duration
2.5 Hours
Enjoy a guided walk through 2,000 years of history and witness the symbolic monuments of Valencia’s glorious past.
Put on your walking shoes and follow your informative guide on a series of exterior visits to a collection of city sights. You’ll see the Cathedral, known locally as ‘La Seu’, or ‘The seat’, which dates back to 1262 and took until the 18th century to complete.
Then you can admire La Lonja, the Old Silk Exchange, one of the most fascinating pure Gothic-style civic buildings in history. This UNESCO site is a symbol of Valencia's wealth during the Golden Age.
Just across the street you’ll find the famous Central Market, one of Europe’s largest indoor markets. Boasting 1,000 vendors within 8,000-square-metres, its glass domes, liberty-style finishing, and brightly coloured tiles are the perfect setting for this gastronomic paradise filled with the flavours of the Mediterranean.
You’ll also see a host of other city highlights, including Town Hall Square, Plaza de la Reina, Plaza Redonda, Serrano towers, and much more – before returning to your ship by bus.
