Comfy shoes and camera at the ready? Your local expert is on hand as you set off from the centre of Vigo. Stroll along Montero Rios Avenue where you’ll spot the statue of Jules Verne, who set a chapter of his most famous book in Vigo Bay.
Passing through Concepción Arenal Street towards Compostela Square and gardens, immerse yourself in the vibrant atmosphere before stopping for a drink and pincho (a small, tasty bite) at a local café. Suitably refreshed, you’ll discover key sights of the city such as the Museum of Contemporary Art and El Sireno, the Merman statue.
Marvel at the beautiful architecture and quaint streets of the old quarter – home to the iconic Santa Maria Collegiate Church, which was rebuilt after being burned down in 1585. By the quayside on Oyster Street, watch local ladies perform the age-old art of shucking.

This tour is conducted entirely on foot from the quayside and involves 1½ hours of walking plus some steps, inclines and uneven ground. Comfortable, flat walking shoes are recommended. There is the option to remain in town after the tour and make your own way back to the ship.
