Your day will begin with a coach drive to Baie Saint Paul to enjoy a few hours of free time, before boarding the Train de Charlevoix. Explore the charming town that has been an inspiration to artists and is also the birthplace of the world-famous Cirque du Soleil. Discover the artistic culture, browse the local shops and perhaps purchase a snack or refreshments in one of the many eateries.
Afterwards, sit back and relax on the Train de Charlevoix, as you take a two hour train ride passing through areas of the river and countryside otherwise inaccessible. As you travel along, absorb the scenery of the verdant and rugged hillsides. You’ll pass through the town of Sainte-Anne-de-Beaupré, famous for its pilgrims who make their way to the Shrine of Ste-Anne-de-Beaupré every year, and Petite-Riviere-Saint-Francois, a narrow strip of land running along the river for more than six kilometres.
Your train ride will draw to an end at the Montmorency Falls, for the return drive to Quebec.
Essential information
This excursion operats by coach and train. This tour may operate in reverse order and commence at Montmorency Falls. Ste-Anne-de-Beaupré will be passed through twice, once via coach and once via train. The drive to Baie Saint Paul is around 1½ hours. This tour involves limited walking, however guests must be able to negotiate steps on to and off the coach and the train. Flat, comfortable shoes are recommended. The train is not exclusive to P&O Cruises. Snack and drinks are will be available on the train to purchase. Please remember local currency.
