February Cruise Deals

In February, you’ve a choice of travelling with us to a diverse selection of destinations. For sunshine and scenic landscapes, consider a Canary Islands cruise holiday, or for an early taste of summer and laidback groove, how about a Caribbean cruise? For a snappier getaway that won’t take too much time from your month, consider one of our Northern Europe getaways, or one of our Western Europe cruise holidays to introduce some post-Christmas excitement into the year.

We have two dress codes in place to make your time on board that extra bit special. Here’s a useful guide so you know what to expect and you cand dress for any and all occasions.

During the day:  The dress code during the day is just your typical holiday wardrobe. Think t-shirts, shorts and sundresses (unless you’re heading to Northern Europe in winter!). Away from the pool, we ask for shoes to be worn and no pool wear in the ship’s lounges, inside bars, restaurants or reception. It may be chilly on deck and breezy in the evening (even in the tropics), so be sure to pack light layers. We’d also recommend flat shoes for strolling the decks.

Evening dress codes: We have two dress codes that apply in the evenings: Evening Casual and Black Tie. Nights where the dress code is Evening Casual, you can bring out your best shirt, dress and smart, dark denim. For nights where the dress code is Black Tie, make sure to pack your best tux, suit or cocktail dress.

There are some venues on each ship where dress codes don’t apply, so make sure to check your Horizon paper that’s delivered to your cabin each day to check where these are, as they vary ship by ship.

Dress codes for children: For those travelling on family-friendly ships, dress codes also don’t apply to children aged 17 and under. However, they can still dress to impress if they want to! 

The month of February might be among the best to travel. If the drizzly days and grey skies that this month tends to bring aren’t your cup of tea, give it a skip with a cruise holiday to sunnier shores – when you’re back, you’ll feel all the better for having soaked up some vitamin D and winter will be on its way out. Or perhaps you want to add a little post-Christmas excitement into the year, in which case a cruise holiday is the perfect solution. Maybe you feel like making a grand gesture this Valentine’s Day with an unforgettable experience shared together? We have cruises covering this time period that work for a range of holiday styles and budgets. On top of all this, February cruises are typically less expensive than those that take place just a few months ahead and, if you do select this month for a holiday, you’ll be able to enjoy reduced crowds and, often, reduced prices on shore.

The weather in the Caribbean during the month of February is steadily warm, with steady sunshine and some cooler evenings making for an enticing choice for a February holiday. You’ll want your luggage to reflect this, so we’d recommend bringing along:

While temperatures do start to rise in February in Northern Europe, the weather, which can reach as low as -7°C, averages around 2°C during this time period. Here’s what we’d recommend making sure you bring along on your Northern Europe cruise holiday:

• Layers

• Waterproof or water-resistant trousers
• Sunscreen and lip-balm with SPF (if travelling to a snowy region)
• Salopettes, goggles and sunglasses (if travelling to a snowy region)
• Winter jacket
• Thermals

• Winter accessories, e.g., scarves, hats and gloves
• Your dinner jacket, cocktail dress or ballgown (for our Black Tie evening)

While temperatures do start to rise in February, Western Europe is still in the throes of winter at this time, so you’ll want to make sure you bring along everything you need to keep warm. Here’s what we’d recommend packing:

• Layers
• Jumpers
• Long-sleeved tops
• Waterproof or water-resistant trousers
• Sunscreen and lip-balm with SPF (if travelling to a snowy region)
• Salopettes, goggles and sunglasses (if travelling to a snowy region)
• Winter jacket

• Your dinner jacket, cocktail dress or ballgown (for our Black Tie evening)

While February marks the tail end of winter, you’ll still want to bundle up warm on your Northern Europe holiday as it’s more than a bit chilly. Of the places we travel during that time period, Hamburg’s the coldest, with lows reaching freezing and highs of 4°C. A little less brisk is Rotterdam, which can be as chilly as 1°C but can also reach 7°C. Similarly, Bruges can reach a nearly temperate 7°C, although it can also creep down to 2°C.

In February, we travel to Amsterdam in Western Europe. There, it can get as cool as 0°C during this time, although it can also reach highs of 6°C. If you’re a solid fan of those cosy days where it’s drizzling outside, then this might be the holiday for you, as Amsterdam experiences an average of nine days of rain during this period!

If your mind’s on the summer lying ahead, consider booking a Caribbean cruise for the month of February for a consistently sunny, toasty warm holiday. In Antigua, highs average 28°C with lows of 21°C and nine days of rainfall, while St Kitts has very similar highs and lows, though fourteen days of rainfall for the month.

In Belize, expect only six days of rain, highs of 29°C on average and lows of merely 21°C. Bonaire and Grenada are even warmer, with sizzling average highs of 30°C, while the former has lows of 25°C and twelve days of rain and the latter reaches lows of only 23°C with nine days of rain for the month.

The weather in Aruba is identical to Bonaire’s but with only five days of rain, and similarly Curaçao reaches a summery 30°C with lows of 24°C and just five days of rainfall.  

In St Lucia, it can get as warm as 29°C on average and 23°C on a cooler day, with a rainfall of thirteen days for the month, and Barbados and St Maarten share the same weather but with fewer days of rainfall for Barbados with a total of nine, while St Maarten has ten days in total. Roatán is similar, with highs averaging 29°C and lows dipping to 24°C, and eleven days of rainfall for the month of February; the same is true of St Vincent, though with slightly more rain totalling an average of twelve days for the month.

In Grand Turk, it can become as warm as 28°C with lows not straying too far at 23°C, plus ten days of rainfall. In Tortola, expect highs of 27°C  and lows of 20°C, with ten days of rainfall. The Bahamas trails only a little behind, with highs reaching 25°C on average and lows stooping to 17°C and nine days of rainfall for the month of February. On the milder side is Bermuda, with modest highs of 21°C and lows averaging 15°C, with a bit more rain for the month totalling twelve days.
