Please note: you must choose the Select Price option if you’d like to pick the exact location of your cabin.
We are always working to improve our website by testing new features and processes, therefore you're booking journey may differ from the steps in the article.
Step One: Finding the perfect deck
The first step is deciding on your preferred deck. Our ships offer a variety of deck options, each with its own unique character.
Explore our detailed deck plans to get a feel for the layout of each deck and the location of various amenities. Deck plans can be found within the ship specific pages, or within our brochure.

Step Two: Use our room selector tool
We've made choosing your cabin location a breeze with our user-friendly room selector tool. Here's a quick guide to its features:
- Select your deck: the tool displays available decks for your chosen cruise.
- Know your surroundings: dropdown menus reveal the types of cabins and facilities on each deck.
- Price point perfection: see the additional cost associated with specific locations.
- Flexibility is key: toggle between selections by cabin number or price to find your ideal fit.
- Detailed cabin information: click on a specific cabin in the deck plan for an additional screen showing detailed information and any additional charges.
You’ll find the room selector tool within the booking process. If you need a reminder on how to start your booking journey, view our article How to book a P&O Cruises holiday.
Step Three: Choose your cabin location
Now that you've discovered the room selector tool, let's explore some key factors to consider when choosing your cabin location:
- Forward or aft: forward cabins are in the front area of the ship and may experience some movement, particularly during turns; aft cabins are at the back of the ship and can be close to thruster noise. Consider your sensitivity to movement when making your choice. However, forward and aft sections are ideal for witnessing the stunning views of each port as you dock, or the endless ocean views behind you. Midship sections are in the middle of the ship and are often where you feel less motion and are closer to our restaurants and bars. This may be perfect if you’re concerned about motion or you enjoy being closer to the action.
- Peace and quiet, please: lift areas can generate noise. If tranquillity is your priority, choose a cabin further away from lifts.
- Accessibility first: We offer cabins designed for guests with accessibility needs. Guests with mobility needs may find locations close to the lifts are most convenient. View our Accessible cabins and ship access page for more information. Remember, to book an accessible cabin, this must be completed through our Customer Contact Centre on 0344 338 8003.
Once you’ve decided on the perfect cabin type for you, click which cabin you’d like from available cabins on the deck plan. More information will appear, and the amenities of your chosen cabin as well as any price additions will be highlighted. If you’re happy with this selection, scroll down and click ‘Select this cabin’.
You'll see your chosen cabin highlighted in blue. Now click ‘Continue’ to be taken back to the booking process to finish your booking journey.
Ultimately, the best cabin location is the one that perfectly complements your cruise holiday style. With our user-friendly tools and this handy guide, you're well on your way to finding your own paradise!
