What accessibility facilities are there on board?

At P&O Cruises, we want to ensure that every holiday is enjoyed to the full – and by everyone. We have several facilities on board to cater to accessibility needs or health conditions.

A polite reminder: if you have accessibility needs or health conditions, we kindly ask that you fill out our On-Board Needs Questionnaire via My P&O Cruises as soon as possible after booking your holiday, and no later than two weeks before your departure date.

Moving around the ship

Most of the ship's areas are accessible for guests who use a wheelchair or have limited mobility. Please see our ‘Accessible cabins and ship access’ page for more detail about safety and other accessibility features around the ship.

Cabins

We have specially designed accessible and partially adapted cabins. You’ll find more information on cabin types, their location on our ships, and their facilities and amenities in our article Which cabin is right for me?’

Lifts

Lift sizes vary across our fleet. It might be tight getting mobility equipment in and out of lifts, especially when they’re busy. So, please see our list of lift dimensions:

Dining and bar venues

All our dining and bar venues are accessible. You can request an accessible seat at a dining table when booking by clicking ‘Yes’ when prompted.

Swimming pools 

All our ships offer a pool hoist with chair (weight limit 136kg). You may need to book the use of this in advance at Reception with 24 hours’ notice. The crew on our ships are trained to assist guests to operate the pool hoist but can’t help guests in and out of the chair.

Theatres

Our entertainment venues have allocated spaces for guests to watch performances from their wheelchair or mobility scooter, as well as space for carers or travelling companions to sit nearby. These are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis to full-time wheelchair users; however, you can book via My P&O Cruises if you’re travelling on board Arvia or Iona.
