Please note: it’s your responsibility to ensure you have all the correct documents in order to travel. We can’t accept responsibility if you’re denied entry to a country because you don’t meet its entry requirements.
For information on passport and visa requirements, please see our article ‘What travel documents will I need?'
Some immigration forms will need to be completed once you’re on board. A crew member will tell you if you need to do this.
Countries with documentation requirements
Please refer to each country’s government website for detailed visa requirements.
We’ve outlined some requirements below for Barbados, Indonesia, Chile, Philippines, Singapore, USA, Australia and New Zealand.

USA
You must have an Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA) for entry to the USA. To create an application and print the approved ESTA document for embarkation, please go to the Official ESTA Application Website, U.S. Customs and Border Protection
British Citizen passport holders and other nationals of the Visa Waiver program (VWP) may enter the United States of America (USA) without a visa after completing an Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA). ESTA is an automated online system used to determine the eligibility of visitors to travel to the USA under the VWP and whether such travel poses any law enforcement or security risk.
Please note the following important points:
You can’t enter the USA under the VWP unless you’ve obtained an ESTA prior to travel. This is required for travel to all USA ports.
You must be in possession of your ESTA prior to boarding the ship. Please present a copy of your ESTA confirmation at check-in, as evidence for immigration purposes.
Please print a copy of your ESTA despite advice on the website that this isn’t necessary.
Ensure the information on your ESTA confirmation matches your passport information.
You must also be in possession of a biometric passport (or E-Passport) when travelling to the USA under the VWP.
If you don’t have a full British Citizen passport or a passport from another country eligible for the VWP, please check to ensure you have the correct documents for your holiday.
Australia
Check whether you should have an approved e-Visitor or Electronic Travel Authority for entry into Australia.
Please note: this differs from the Electronic Travel Authorisation needed by non-British and non-Irish passport holders in order to travel to the UK.
If you need to get an e-Visitor or Electronic Travel Authority, visit Immigration and citizenship to create an application and print a copy of your confirmation for embarkation.
New Zealand
Check whether you should have a New Zealand Electronic Travel Authority for entry into New Zealand.
Please note: this differs from the Electronic Travel Authorisation needed by non-British and non-Irish passport holders in order to travel to the UK.
If you need to get an Electronic Travel Authority, visit New Zealand Electronic Travel Authority (NZeTA) | Immigration New Zealand to create an application and print a copy of your confirmation for embarkation.
Carry your travel documents in your carry-on luggage so they’re easily to hand.
