Cabin refreshments
Do cabins have chillers?
Yes. All cabins come with a chiller.
Do cabins have kettles?
Yes. All P&O Cruises cabins have kettles and tea and coffee-making facilities.
Can I use a microwave in my cabin?
Due to safety regulations, guests cannot bring microwaves on board, and our microwaves are unsuitable for domestic use. However, we can provide hot water, and you may ask a crew member if they can assist you in heating something.
Cabin ambiance
Do cabins have fans?
Your cabin will have air conditioning, which you can adjust; therefore, a fan is unnecessary. If you still want to bring your own, please let us know when you board the ship so we can conduct essential electrical testing on the appliance.
Can I control the temperature in my cabin?
Yes, every cabin has an air-conditioning control panel. This allows you to control the temperature of your cabin between 18ºC and 28ºC, although this may vary slightly depending on the ship.
Please note that the conservatory part of the Conservatory Mini-suites on board Arvia and Iona are not temperature-controlled but are ventilated.
Cabin entertainment and technology
Do cabins have TVs?
Yes. Every cabin on a P&O cruises ship has a TV with live channels, films and box sets. Arvia, Britannia and Iona also have over 250 on-demand films and TV programmes on their in-cabin TVs. The TVs also offer informative content such as live weather updates, navigation information, a ship webcam and cruise radio. Some cabins may also offer subtitled films.
What TV channels can I get in my cabin?
The TVs in our cabins have a huge selection of live TV channels. While the precise channel and channel number will vary on each ship, you can expect to find the following channels across all our ships:
- BBC HD
- BBC World News
- Sky News
- Sky Sports News
- Sport 24
- Prime One
- Prime Favourites
- National Geographic / Discovery Channel
- A safety and navigational channel
Please note that there will be additional channels on your cabin’s TV that are not listed above. You’ll find a complete list of TV channels when you board your ship.
Do cabins have Wi-Fi?
P&O Cruises ships have Wi-Fi that's available in cabins. You can access the internet through satellite reception by pre-purchasing one of our internet packages via My P&O Cruises, or via My Holiday once on board.

Cabin power
What plug sockets are in the cabins?
Our ships have standard UK three-pin plug sockets, usually next to your vanity table, tea tray, TV and bed or sofa. Arvia and Iona also have USB ports by each lower bed, usually under the light.
Shaver points
Shaver points are in the cabins' bathrooms on Arcadia, Aurora, Azura and Britannia. On Britannia, the shaver socket is the US two-pin version, and an adaptor is required to use a UK three-pin plug.
Shaving sockets on Arvia and Iona are only available in Suites. You can request a shaving adapter from your cabin steward.
Electrical supply
The standard electrical supply in the United Kingdom is 50Hz (cycles) and 240V. The supply on board is:
- Arcadia - 220V / 110V / 60Hz
- Arvia - 230V / 60Hz
- Aurora - 220V / 60Hz
- Azura - 230V / 115V / 60Hz
- Britannia - 230V / 120V / 60Hz
- Iona - 230V / 60Hz
- Ventura - 230V / 115V / 60Hz
The above voltages are sufficient to charge electrical equipment such as laptops and cameras.
Cabin sleeping
What pillows are provided in the cabins?
Standard pillows
All cabins, except Suites, are supplied with two hollow-fibre pillows per person. Feather pillows can be requested before embarkation by calling our Customer Contact Centre or once on board from your cabin steward.
Alternative pillows
There is a choice of five pillow options available to guests who’ve booked into a Suite. These are:
- Goose Feather and Down Pillow - Contains 85% feather and 15% down for added softness. Medium support. It can be re-plumped to regain shape.
- Duck Feather and Down Pillow - A soft pillow designed to cradle the head and neck at a natural, restful angle.
- Memory Foam Pillow - For those looking for a comfortable and supportive pillow designed to support the head and neck, resulting in a more relaxing night’s sleep.
- Hypoallergenic - Ensure a sound and healthy night’s sleep with a unique and comfortable hypoallergenic pillow. This pillow helps relieve neck and back discomfort while preventing the causes of allergies and asthma.
- Bolster Pillow - This pillow is often placed across a bed underneath the regular pillows to provide added support. It can help reduce a stiff neck and provide a comfortable night’s sleep.
Additional and alternative pillows are subject to availability. Alternative pillows may be available for other cabin grades but are always offered to Suite guests first. These can be requested once on board from your cabin steward.
Do cabins have sofa beds?
Yes. A select number of our 3- and 4-bed cabins across all our ships will include a sofa bed, pull-down bed, or both. To find which cabins have sofa beds, please see the notes on the deck plan for each ship. You'll find deck plans in our brochure or via the Our Ships tab at the top of this page.
Do you have mattress protectors?
We supply the mattress protector that fits over the mattress's top. These are on all beds as standard when they are made. We don't supply the kind that provides a seal against liquid and air.
Do you provide a Bible?
Yes. You will find a Bible in your table drawer.
Cabin sleeping for kids
Do cabins have children’s bed rails/guards?
Children’s bed rails/guards are available on all our family-friendly ships. They can be requested on board. Please use the Contact Us form to contact our Guest Support team, who will be able to help. We do not offer bed rails/guards for adults.
Do you provide cots in cabins?
Cots can be added to our family-friendly ships, Arvia, Azura, Britannia, Iona and Ventura. Arcadia and Aurora are exclusively for adults. To request a cot in your cabin, please get in touch with the Customer Contact Centre.
Please note: Not every cabin can accommodate a cot when using the upper berth.
How big are the cots you can provide?
Please find below the approximate cot sizes used on board:
- When assembled, the dimensions are: (L) 103cm, (W) 72cm, (D) 79.5cm
- When folded away, the dimensions are: (L) 25cm, (W) 25cm, (D) 79.5cm
They weigh approximately 8kg.
What bedding is supplied with a cot?
Our cots come with a fitted sheet covering the mattress and one small cellular blanket.
Cabin bathrooms and getting ready
What’s included in the bathrooms?
- Towels
- Face cloths (on request only)
- A rubberised, non-slip bathmat (on request only once on board)
- Towel bathmat
- Fixed 300ml bottle of bath and shower gel
- There is a retractable clothes-drying line in the shower of each cabin
- In Suites (including Mini-suites, Conservatory Mini-suites and Penthouse Suites), bathrooms come with full-size whirlpool bath*, separate shower, dual sink vanity unit and WC.
*Some exceptions apply.
What toiletries are provided?
We provide toiletries in all our cabins, including shower gel, shampoo, and hand wash. Conditioner can be requested from your cabin steward. Standard rooms have pump dispensers in the shower, while Suites and Mini-suites have small tubes of body wash, shampoo, conditioner and body lotion. You can also ask your cabin steward for extra toiletries if you run out.
Are there bathrobes and slippers in the cabins?
Yes. Some P&O Cruises cabins include complimentary bathrobes and slippers to use while on the ship. These cabins include:
- Superior Deluxe Balcony Cabins
- Conservatory Mini-suites
- Mini-suites
- Suites
Please note that bathrobes and slippers come in one adult size only. Guests in other cabin types can order bathrobes and slippers from their cabin steward at an additional cost.
Do cabins have hair dryers?
Yes. All cabins come with a hair dryer.
Do you provide coat hangers in the wardrobes?
Yes, several coat hangers are provided in the wardrobes. The number can vary, and you are welcome to bring your own.
Do you provide towels?
Yes. You are allocated a cabin towels, replenished up to twice daily by the cabin steward. You can find pool/beach towels on the pool decks.
Do cabins have irons?
No. There are no ironing boards or irons in any of our cabins for safety reasons.
However, all P&O Cruises ships have self-service launderettes with ironing stations that guests can use for free. The launderettes also have washers and dryers, but you need to provide your own detergent, which is available to buy on board.
We offer a pressing service on board. You can also use the ship's laundry service. Laundry order forms with prices for individual items are available in the cabin or from your cabin steward.
Is there a clothes-drying line in my cabin's bathroom?
Yes, you will find a retractable drying line in the shower area of your cabin.
