What does a three or four bed cabin look like?

This guide explains the bed configurations of our three and four bed cabins. Across all our ships, the configurations depend on the cabin grade.

For information on the configuration of a specific cabin, please see the ‘Cabin notes’ on the deck plans in our brochure. You can order or download a brochure here.

You’ll also find deck plans on our website. Select the ‘Our Ships’ tab, click on the ship you’d like to see and scroll down to ‘Deck plans’.

Types of beds

Cabins might have additional beds in the form of a single sofa bed, a single sofa bed plus a pull-down bed, two upper pull-down beds or a double sofa bed.

The pull-down beds come down from the ceiling or fold into the wall. Please note that the pull-down beds have a small ladder, which you must be able to climb.

For example:

Restrictions

There are no weight restrictions on the upper pull-down beds. However, there is a weight restriction on the ladder of 130kg (approximately 20 stone). The upper pull-down beds are tested to approximately 300kg.

Any guest in your party can sleep in an upper pull-down bed but please bear in mind the bed is elevated.

For safety reasons, if an upper pull-down bed is in use, the two lower beds can’t be pushed together to make a double (queen) bed. However, this doesn’t apply to Iona’s Inside cabins, where there are no safety issues when pull-down beds are used.

My cabin configurations

Once your cabin has been allocated, you might want to find out more about the type of additional beds available.

You’ll find your cabin number and which deck it’s on in your booking confirmation or in My P&O Cruises if you’ve already selected a cabin number. Then go to the deck plans for your ship, which are in our brochure, which you can view here, or on the 'Our Ships' pages.

Once you’ve found your cabin on the deck plan, look for a small icon that indicates the type of additional beds provided and find it in the list of ‘Cabin notes’.

Please note: if you've chosen a Saver or Early Saver price, cabins aren't allocated immediately; you'll be allocated a cabin number closer to your date of departure.
