What do I need to know about the kids’ clubs?

We want to make sure younger guests are well looked after and entertained on board P&O Cruises ships. Our Kids' Clubs offer a carefully curated selection of exciting activities for children aged 6 months to 17 years.

Kids' clubs

What is the Kids' Club?

Staffed by an enthusiastic and qualified crew, we provide kids' clubs tailored to age-specific needs and entertainment.

Activities vary by age group and can include arts and crafts, quizzes, challenges, sports and much more. Age-appropriate game consoles, such as PlayStations and fixed tablets, are located in each of the clubs. There‘s also plenty of time for children to relax and meet people of a similar age.

P&O Cruises kids' clubs are located in The Reef and are divided into four age-specific clubs:

  • Splashers (2-4 years)
  • Surfers (5-8 years)
  • Scubas (9-12 years)

For ages 13 to 17, there are dedicated spaces: Scene (on Arvia and Iona) and H2O (on Azura, Britannia and Ventura).

Safety measures are paramount at the kids' clubs

Each of The Reef's rooms features secure door entry systems, and in the balcony cabins, protective balcony nets are available on request. There are check-in and check-out procedures for children aged 2 to 12, giving parents peace of mind whilst they relax elsewhere on the ship.

Our clubs are run by our qualified and experienced Reef Rangers. All have extensive experience in planning and facilitating activities and hold enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) checks.

How do I register my child for the Kids' Club?

Every child (from 6 months to 17 years old) must be registered before booking any sessions.

You can register each child 14 days ahead of your holiday at My P&O Cruises.

After registering your child/children, you can book a session before your cruise via My P&O Cruises - for an additional cost.

You can also register children and book once on board. If demand for a session is high, we unfortunately cannot guarantee a place for every child.

Guests aged 13 to 17 don’t need to pre-book sessions but must still be registered.

Do you cater for children with disabilities in the children’s club?

We want every child to have a great time in our children’s clubs, in an environment where everyone is supported and cared for.

To attend our clubs, children must be able to manage their personal care needs independently (unless they are of pre-school age), and join in group activities without one-to-one supervision or additional support.

We have participation guidelines in place to help parents and guardians decide whether the children’s club is suitable based on the level of support we can provide in a group session. Please read our children's club behaviour policy and participation guidelines for more information.

If the children’s club seems the right environment for your child, please provide as much information as you can when registering them. Our Youth team on board will use our guidelines when discussing your child’s needs with you and will make the final decision on whether the club setting is appropriate at that time.

For more information, see What accessibility facilities are there on board?

Can I leave my child in the children’s club if they’re not toilet trained?

Children attending the children’s club must be able to manage their own personal care needs independently, where age appropriate. This includes being able to use the toilet independently. This doesn’t include infants, as infants wearing nappies may attend Splashers if a parent or guardian has provided consent for the team to change them.

For pools, children who are not toilet-trained can only use designated pools:

  • Azura - Children's pools (Aft) and the Coral Pool
  • Britannia - The Reef Adventure Zone and the Lido Pool
  • Ventura - Children's pool (Aft) and the Beachcomber Pool
  • Iona - Zero depth part of the infinity Pool (Deck 16, aft) and the SkyDome Pool (Deck 16)
  • Arvia - Children's water play area, Splash Valley (Deck 18, aft) and Panorama Pool (Deck 18 aft)

Kids' Club opening times

The Kids' clubs are open every day and will run several sessions throughout the day on every cruise.

A night nursery is available from 6 pm to midnight.

Opening hours may vary depending on the itinerary, ship and season. You can check the opening times on board. Sessions must be booked in advance. Walk-ins are not available.

Children's club sessions last 2 to 5 hours, and there is no limit to how many sessions children can attend (subject to availability).

You can learn about your exact club options by checking the My Holiday portal once you are on board.

Can I use the children's club if I want to go ashore?

Children under the age of 16 must not be left unaccompanied on the ship whilst the ship is in port. Childcare isn’t available while you’re ashore.

All children under the age of 16 must have an adult, 18 or above, accompanying them whilst on board.
