What is the difference between the P&O Cruises Upgrade programme and the complimentary upgrade I opted into at the time of booking?

The P&O Cruises Upgrade programme gives you the opportunity to upgrade to a higher grade cabin at a price you are willing to pay. Once all upgrade offers have been considered and assigned, complimentary upgrades will be reviewed and guests who have booked a Select Fare will be given first priority for these.

I’ve booked an accessible / wheelchair cabin, will the upgraded cabin still be accessible?

Yes, if you have already booked an accessible / wheelchair cabin we will only upgrade you if an accessible cabin is available at your chosen upgrade cabin grade.

Can I choose the location or specific features of the upgraded cabin?

No. We can’t guarantee a specific cabin location within the upgraded category, however you will receive all amenities associated with the upgraded cabin. P&O Cruises Upgrade may not be suitable for you if you have selected a particular cabin because it has certain features or is in a particular location onboard.

What happens if I’m part of a group or traveling with another reservation?

Each upgrade offer is considered individually. That means we can’t guarantee that all (or any) reservations traveling together will be upgraded. And even if all reservations are upgraded, we can’t promise that all the upgraded cabins will be close together.

Can I place multiple upgrade offers?

Yes, you can place upgrade offers on multiple cabin types but cannot offer on an individual cabin type more than once.

Can I cancel or modify my upgrade offer?

You can cancel or modify your upgrade offer up until the time the offer is accepted and your cabin has been upgraded. Once your offer has been accepted and your cabin has been upgraded you are unable to cancel of modify your offer.

What happens if my upgrade offer is not accepted?

You will receive an email approximately 6 days before sail date to let you know that your upgrade offer was unsuccessful. You won’t be charged any additional amount, and you’ll stay in the cabin you originally booked.

Is my upgrade offer in addition to what I’ve already paid for my cruise?

Yes, any amount you offer for an upgrade is in addition to the cost of your original booking.

When do I pay for my upgrade?

Payment must be received within 72hrs of your upgrade offer being accepted, you will receive an email confirming your offer has been accepted and a booking confirmation showing your outstanding balance. In exceptional circumstances, we may accept an upgrade within 7 days and in these instances, we will require immediate payment.

Can I use an FCC to cover the cost of my upgrade?

Yes, Future Cruise Credit (FCC) can be used on your upgrade. When you make your upgrade offer, tick the box on the payment page that says "I have a Future Cruise Credit I would like to apply towards the payment of my upgrade''.

Is the amount of the upgrade offer per person per day or for the whole cruise?

The amount is per guest for the entire duration of the cruise. Upgrade offers are based on two guests per cabin.

What happens if I am sailing solo or with a larger group?

All upgrades are based on two guests sharing a cabin. If you are travelling solo you will pay 200% of the offer you make. If there are more than two people in your cabin only the first two guests will pay for the upgrade.

1. Check your email

If you’re eligible (guidance is available in our Frequently Asked Questions below), you’ll be sent an email from us to access the upgrade website.

2. Choose your cabin

Once on the P&O Cruises Upgrades website, simply choose a cabin upgrade from the list provided.

3. Decide on your offer

Make us an offer of how much you’d be happy to pay to upgrade to that cabin.

4. Get upgraded

If your offer is accepted, you will need to pay within 72 hours and your booking will be automatically updated. If your offer is not accepted, you will be informed approximately 6 days before sailing.

If you are the lead guest, are aged 18 or over, have paid your balance in full and have not opted out of receiving pre cruise communications, then you are eligible for our upgrade programme. You will receive an invite to offer approximately 80 days prior to your cruise departure.

Most cruises will be included in the upgrade programme, but P&O Cruises reserve the right to exclude cruises for commercial reasons.

If you meet all the eligibility requirements but still cannot access the upgrade offering site, please call our Contact Centre on 0344 338 8003 (local call charges apply) and choose the “P&O Cruises Upgrade programme” option.

No. We will automatically allocate you an upgraded cabin if your upgrade offer is accepted.

If you have already selected or have been allocated a cabin number, there is no guarantee this cabin will be available once your upgrade offer is accepted. If this is the case you will be allocated an alternative cabin in the original grade booked.

Your upgrade offer can be accepted anytime from the moment it is submitted. We will endeavour to tell guests at least 7 days prior to departure if they have been successful, however in exceptional circumstances we reserve the right to upgrade guests up until 1 day prior to departure.

We will automatically allocate you an upgraded cabin if your upgrade offer is accepted. If you have already selected or have been allocated a cabin number there is no guarantee this cabin will be available once your upgrade offer is accepted.
