Meet Marco Pierre White

 

Known the world over, Marco Pierre White has pushed the boundaries of cuisine for over 30 years. In the 1980s, he took the restaurant scene by storm, becoming the youngest ever chef to be awarded three Michelin stars. Over the years, Marco has been the chef of choice for royalty, world leaders and celebrities, all hungry for his sensational cooking.

Today, Marco's passion for using fresh ingredients of sound provenance continues with P&O Cruises. Marco’s innovative Gala Evening menus are a treat for all, and he’s also the mastermind behind Ocean Grill restaurant on Arcadia – a classic steak and seafood eatery given the Marco twist, with dishes skilfully prepared and presented with his incredible trademark flair. When Marco is on board for specific Food Hero cruises, his underlying belief that beautiful food is simple food shines through. In his popular masterclasses he shares tricks of the trade via demonstrations on Azura and Ventura and with a hands-on, two-hour class in The Cookery Club on Britannia. Twice Michelin-starred chef Atul Kochhar blazes the trail in Indian fine dining. With P&O Cruises, his dishes at on-board restaurant Sindhu are crafted with passion, using the finest spices and quality ingredients. Chef Atul strikes the perfect balance between flavour and spice by modernising regional Indian dishes with a British twist. The sumptuous surroundings and decor complement the beautiful dishes to create a unique dining experience. Each chef within the six Sindhu restaurants across the P&O Cruises fleet receive regular first-hand training from Atul to ensure the highest standards. Meet Olly Smith

 

The irrepressible, award-winning wine expert and passionate foodie, Olly Smith heads up The Glass House restaurant and bar on board Aurora, Azura, Britannia and Ventura. In 2015, he was the UK's Drinks Ambassador to China and listed in Debrett's 500, a celebration of Britain’s most inspiring and influential people. His passion for wine was sparked at a free tasting at university. He went on to work for a wine merchant and won the internationally acclaimed Wine Idol award. In The Glass House, he brings the world of wine to you – varieties from all four corners of the globe, by the glass, by the bottle and, if you fancy, right by a plate of fabulous food. There are also helpful suggestions in the menu on how best to match your chosen wine with the food you order.

Afternoon Tea by Eric Lanlard is also an experience not to be missed. The playful reinvention of this quintessentially British tradition takes teatime decadence to a new level on board Arcadia, Azura, Britannia and Ventura. Expect the unexpected with porcini and pancetta éclairs, curried crab tartlets, saffron and mango verrines and marble swirls red velvet cake pops, beautifully presented in elegant surroundings.
