Are there any exceptions to the dress code?

On Black Tie and Celebration Nights, we don’t accept denim in venues with a Black Tie dress code. But if you’re more comfortable in denim or dark denim, you’re welcome to wear it to any venues with an Evening Casual dress code, including on Black Tie and Celebration Nights.
You’ll find details of each venue’s dress codes for that evening in your daily Horizon.

Can I wear denim on Black Tie nights?

If you want to showcase smart tailored shorts on Evening Casual nights, these can only be worn in the buffet, The Beach House, and The Glass House, as well as 6th Street Diner, The Olive Grove and The Keel &amp; Cow on Arvia and Iona.
Unfortunately, all other venues on board don’t allow tailored shorts to be worn, and tailored shorts are not allowed in any venue on our Black Tie nights except for the buffet.&nbsp;

Can I wear tailored shorts on Evening Casual nights?

As a guide, based on length of cruise:
 
Arvia and Iona:
2-10 nights – 1
11-14 nights – 2
15-19 nights – 3
 
Rest of fleet:
1-6 nights – 1
7-10 nights – 2
11-13 nights – 3
14-19 nights – 4

How many Black Tie nights will there be?

National and religious dress including headdress' are allowed on board. Depending on the amount of the face covered by the headdress, guests may be asked to unveil for a security photo at check in and passing through security check points ashore and on board during the cruise. 
 
Some items of national dress such as ceremonial blades or swords are not permitted and guests should check our list of prohibited items.

What are the rules surrounding religious wear?

The last thing we want to do is dampen your fun, but we do have a few exemptions. We celebrate freedom of expression, but will not allow any clothing that features inappropriate or offensive language. Novelty clothing with printed images or slogans will not be allowed on board. We also reserve the right to deny embarkation to guests who are inappropriately dressed.&nbsp;

What fancy dress items aren't allowed?

Fancy dress, novelty clothing or outfits that feature any inappropriate or offensive language or images are not permitted on board. We reserve the right to deny embarkation to guests who are inappropriately dressed. The only exception to this is official P&amp;O Cruises theme nights, where guests are invited to dress up in line with the theme.

Where can I find out when the Celebration/Black Tie nights are on my cruise?

So many of the venues on board have dress codes in place that are overseen by our crew, especially in our more luxurious restaurants and bars that are listed below. Except for The Chef’s Table that has a Black Tie dress code in place on Celebration Night, other venues across the ship are either Evening Casual or Black Tie, depending on the dress code of the day.
