On Saturday 19 September, superstar DJ Pete Tong hit the decks in Arvia’s SkyDome for an epic club night in Ibiza. As the sun started to set over the White Isle, SkyDome morphed into a unique club space. With guests packing the dancefloor and balconies, the party got started. In the golden light, local DJ Andy Baxter built up the vibes as excited guests sipped cocktails and found their dancing feet. 
With darkness falling, the sense of excitement and anticipation mounted – and when Pete took to the stage, the crowd went wild. For 90 ecstatic minutes, Pete’s genre-blending tracks kept coming – a celebration of Pete’s love affair with the Balearic island that’s home to the summer dance music scene. Hands in the air, the crowd responded to the banging playlist of club classics, which included seminal anthems such as Promised Land, Your Love and Café del Mar – iconic sounds that have always struck deep chords.
 For guests and fans of electronic dance music, seeing Pete perform live on ship in Ibiza was a highlight of Arvia’s 14-night Western Mediterranean holiday and a memory to treasure. For generations of devotees, he’s the voice of the scene, hailed throughout his dazzling career for being a force for change and a champion of new sounds and new talent. From start-up club nights in London pubs in the 80s to hosting Saturday nights on London’s Capital Radio and Radio One to filling festivals and the mega-clubs of Ibiza and beyond, Pete’s mission has always had one focus: to bring people together to experience the joy of dance music.

Pete was thrilled to perform on Arvia and bring his unique sounds to the island so dear to his heart. ‘Ibiza has always been my spiritual home – it’s where the sound and culture of dance music truly came alive,’ he said. 
Feeling the crowd’s energy and connection, Pete took to the mike to say hello to guests and show his love for Arvia. After the euphoric last medley concluded, the rapturous crowd roared their appreciation, and Pete was buzzing as he came backstage: ‘Wow what a night! Fantastic to see the P&amp;O Cruises dancing under the stars. Mad venue here. Ibiza’s greatest anthems all night long. Genuinely a special one. Thank you, Arvia. To bring that energy aboard Arvia and connect with people in such a unique setting feels really special.’ Guests were buzzing, too.
‘It’s amazing! We’re absolutely loving it,’ said one excited couple when asked about the experience on Arvia.
 ‘We couldn’t believe how good it was. It was unreal,’ said another. And with that, Arvia said farewell to Ibiza and set sail into the night.

Upholding its celebration of all things British, P&O Cruises selected sparkling wine from the Wiston Estate Winery in Sussex. A nebuchadnezzar of the Brut NV was used for the bottle smash moment itself while thousands of bottles of Brut NV and Ros, Vintage 2011 will be enjoyed during the various inaugural events that are scheduled to take place around the launch.Ê

The ceremony was compredÊby actor, comedian and TV presenter Rob Brydon who features in P&O Cruises latest advertising campaign and included the Royal Marines Band Service, the Band of the Irish Guards and English soprano Laura Wright, as well as a Strictly Come Dancing cameo show.
