Iona’s SkyDome: Bringing the outside in

Iona is designed to bring the outside in. Through innovative design and unique spaces, she connects you with the sea, sky and shoreline.

Iona’s SkyDome – the first of its kind in the cruise industry – is one such space. With its glass dome roof and spacious layout, it’s flooded with natural light. It offers a relaxed, poolside environment by day, with tantalising dining and drinking options; come evening, the space seamlessly transitions into a must-visit entertainment venue, showcasing spectacular aerialist performances and playing host to party nights under the stars. It’s a fun and welcoming space for families, offering laid-back dining, exciting entertainment, a swimming pool and room to roam.

Discover fabulous Norwegian destinations on Iona

Ålesund

Everything about Ålesund is pretty. From its location at the entrance of Geirangerfjord to its unique architecture, it’s the kind of place that sticks with you long after you’ve left. Much of the town centre was devastated by fire in 1904 and rebuilt in Art Nouveau style, and today it’s a well-preserved example of the decorative architectural technique.

Bergen

Nestled within seven mountains and seven fjords is beautiful Bergen. It’s a fittingly picturesque setting for Norway’s second-largest city, itself a beguiling combination of natural beauty and cosmopolitan culture.

Geiranger

The Geirangerfjord region is nature at its eye-popping, heart-stopping, take-your-breath-away best. The small idyllic village and cruise port of Geiranger lies at the head of the famous S-shaped Geirangerfjord. It’s surrounded by spectacular UNESCO-listed scenery: the area is recognised as one of outstanding natural beauty, boasting some of Norway’s longest, deepest, narrowest and most dramatic fjords.

Olden

Cameras at the ready: for unforgettable scenery, it’s hard to beat Olden. The picturesque village is snuggled in a lush green river valley at the end of Nordfjord. It’s blessed with a beautiful fjordic coastline, towering mountains and the biggest glacier on mainland Europe, Jostedalsbreen.

Stavanger

Stavanger – originally a Viking stronghold – is a former European Capital of Culture, and it’s not hard to see why. The city is heaven for culture vultures, boasting an impressive mix of museums, galleries and events celebrating Norway’s rich heritage.

Days at sea

Nowhere offers vistas like the Norwegian fjords. And no other ship offers you such astonishing views. Iona’s itineraries include cruise-bys in five magnificent fjords as you work your way along the coast. All you have to do is sit back and soak it all in.

Explore Iona's cabins

Conservatory Mini-suite cabins

The Conservatory Mini-suite cabin is an exciting new addition to the choice of accommodation and a signature option on Iona.

Iona Conservatory balcony cabin

The concept brings the outdoors in with a personal and versatile conservatory-style room that forms an extension to the cabin. It offers great flexibility and creates a distinctive relaxation and socialising zone. This space, which includes stylish L-shaped seating, can be closed off or left open according to the time of day or mood.

By day or in the evenings, the room opens out fully onto the balcony. With a direct connection to the sea, the space is cool and shaded - and perfect for chilling out in. In the evenings, it transforms into a spacious environment for private celebrations and socialising over pre-dinner drinks with friends and family. Leading directly onto the balcony, all configurations of this flexible space offer glorious seascape views.

Suites

Aft and Forward Suites are always special, giving guests the ultimate experience of relaxation in their own boutique-hotel haven. A luxurious space is created as the doors of interconnecting rooms open fully to create a larger, brighter studio ambience.

Iona suite

The furniture and material selection is focused on guest relaxation and comfort: light tones create the additional spacious experience. Furniture, including sofas, ottomans and lounge chairs, is upholstered in sands, beiges and off-whites. In the spacious bathroom, the double sink units set in stunning black marble are a striking focal point, surrounded by elegant white marble walls and floor tiling.

As with all suites, guests benefit from the clever configuration of different interior zones with separate lounge and bedroom areas, segregated dressing areas and spacious en suite bathrooms. All suites have direct access to large balconies and benefit from a range of exclusive Suite services, such as a personal Butler and a range of in-suite dining options.

Balcony cabins

The sea is the star on Iona and the Balcony accommodation gives guests the chance to enjoy it to the full, whether travelling solo or in a larger group.

Iona balcony cabin

There are four options to choose from – Deluxe (the most spacious), Balcony, Single and Standard Balcony – all of which offer an extended private space in which to relax and unwind. From enjoying a cup of tea in the morning to watching the sun set with a drink, guests can relax in their own private area. Balcony cabins also allow greater flexibility for outdoor dining using the Room Service menu.

For larger groups and families, the internal spaces have been skilfully designed to include attractive built-in drop-down bunk beds and flexible sleeping arrangements that maximise space and seating by day and provide comfortable bedding by night.

Other cabin types

To complete the options of accommodation and offer great choice and value, Iona’s cabin selection of course includes Sea view (Outside) and Inside cabins.

Iona inside cabin

Here, too, the design and choices of colours and materials optimises the seaside feel. Porthole mirrors, blue feature walls and soft furnishings and accessories in gold and white textiles bring a sense of light and relaxation to the interior space.

The clever design of these cabin types maximises storage options and all cabins boast the personal touches that create a stylish and homely atmosphere - including tea and coffee-making facilities (with tasty biscuits provided daily), a well-stocked fridge, in-cabin TV with a host of channels to choose from, and a bathroom boasting soft cotton towels and quality toiletries courtesy of The White Company.

Iona in focus: Children’s Clubs

The Reef - Deck 17

The Reef is our free on-board activity programme for children; a place to keep them safe and entertained throughout the day and evening, and to give them the chance to forge friendships with other children their own age. Staffed by a crew of enthusiastic and qualified Reef rangers, it offers clubs with a wide range of age-specific entertainment.

On Iona, The Reef provides designated spaces for children aged six months to 12 years:

Nursery (6 months-2 years), Splashers (2-4 years), Surfers (5-8 years), Scubas (9-12 years).

There’s also a secure outdoor play area and a designated splash park for these age groups.

A complimentary Night Nursery is available for ages six months to four years, open from 6pm to 2am each night. A quiet area is created to enable an infant to sleep, and parents are contacted via a pager if their child wakes up.

Please note that in all children’s clubs, including the night nursery, allocation is on a first come, first served basis due to limited spaces available.

Scene - Deck 6

Scene is a secret on-board hang-out for teens aged 13 to 17. Located on deck 6, it’s separated from the rest of the children’s club, giving teens a chance to have their own space and allowing them to dip in and out of planned events.

Scene operates during high peak cruising season. In the low season, it becomes an entertainment space for adults.
