When you book a fly-cruise holiday with us, you can manage your flights to suit your needs, including the option to upgrade where available.

Short-haul flights: All guests are allocated Economy class seats, and upgrades are generally not available.

Caribbean fly-cruises: You can request an upgrade when your cruise goes on sale by calling our Customer Contact Centre. Seat selection opens about 14 weeks before departure via the Flight Seat Booker tool (additional charges apply, regardless of cabin grade). You’ll receive an email when seat purchase becomes available. If you don’t purchase seats, they will be allocated automatically.

World Cruise sectors: Upgrades to Premium Economy, Business, or First Class are available on selected airlines. Benefits vary by airline, so please check their website. We can provide upgrade quotes with other airlines or our other fly-cruises from around 11 months before departure, once flight schedules are released.

A fly-cruise is just the thing for those who love to start their holiday by soaking in the sun straight away. With a choice of regional airports to fly from, a fly-cruise means you can sit back and relax the moment you step off the plane whilst getting to experience the magic on board with exciting entertainment, delicious dining options and the opportunity for some retail therapy with our on-board shops. Then, once your relaxing cruise holiday is over, you’ll be transferred back to the airport for your flight home. 

Your e-ticket will be available via My P&O Cruises, from approximately 45 days before departure. It contains both your flight and cruise ticket information and can be accessed by selecting E-Tickets from the "Travel Documents" menu. Your e-ticket contains:

• Your airline and flight number
• Class of travel
• Departure and arrival times
• Departure terminal information
• Baggage information

E-tickets can be downloaded from My P&O Cruises and printed by you up to two days prior to departure. We advise that you print your e-tickets as close to departure as possible as this will ensure they contain the most up-to-date information about your journey. It is important that you carry these with you as proof of onward travel is required to enter some countries. Flight times are always subject to change. P&O Cruises has no control over changes airlines may make, but will inform you should these occur.

If you choose to make your own travel arrangements to join your ship, any flights you take will not form part of the package provided by us and will not be covered by our ATOL protection. You will also need to ensure that you leave sufficient time in your itinerary to reach the cruise terminal by the check-in time stated on your e-ticket as our transfers will not be included.

Chartered flights

On selected Caribbean chartered flights, we’re pleased to offer our seamless service known as ‘bonded baggage.’ Once you’ve dropped your luggage off at the airport, you won’t see it again until it’s outside your cabin. Just make sure all your bags have the P&O Cruises luggage label attached before you check in at the airport and we’ll do the rest.

Please also ensure you have sufficient items in your hand luggage for arrival into Barbados / Antigua (for example, medication or a fresh set of clothes), as luggage may not be delivered to your cabin until late in the evening. 

Scheduled flights

Scheduled flights are a little different but our representatives will be on hand to make sure the process is just as seamless for you. After arriving at your destination, you’ll need to pass through immigration, collect your luggage from Baggage Reclaim then head to Arrivals. If you booked your flight through P&O Cruises and are arriving on the day of sailing (or you’ve booked a hotel through us) one of our representatives will meet you and give you instructions on joining your coach transfer to the cruise terminal.

If you’ve arranged your own flights or are planning to get to your starting destination a few days before you sail, then you’ll need to organise your own transport to the cruise terminal.

Baggage arrangements for your flight back to the UK will be confirmed during your cruise. Your baggage is collected from outside your cabin the night before you disembark. 

Luggage weight 

On fly-cruises, both the charter and scheduled flight luggage restrictions vary, but are usually between 20kg and 23kg per person. Log in to My P&O Cruises and visit the Flights page to view your air carrier baggage allowances. Please note: even if your airline allowance is greater than 23kg, we ask that no individual item of luggage weighs more than 23kg, in order to be safely handled by the ship’s crew and airline baggage handlers.

Yes, both flights and transfers are included in the price of your holiday. However, the airport you’re allocated varies depending on what cruise you’ve booked. If you wish to change the airport you’ll be flying from, a supplement may apply. 

Please note: pre-booking seats via our Flight Seat Booker tool on My P&O Cruises will incur additional charges.

Seats on scheduled flights can usually be purchased through the airline’s own website. Some airlines require tickets to be issued before they allow you to pre-book seats, in which case payment for your flight may be required in advance and will be non-refundable.

Call our Customer Contact Centre or your travel agent for more information. Alternatively most airlines allow you to check-in online 24 hours prior to departure, at which time seat reservations are usually free of charge, though this does vary by airline.

Most of the time, yes. However, if for some reason your flight is unable to meet the cruise ship, we’ll let you know and overnight accommodation will be included in your holiday. We’ll take care of everything so that you don’t have to. 

Due to constant changes each year, we’re unable to specify which airlines we use. However, once your flights are confirmed, you’ll be able to see them in My P&O Cruises.
