Visit the island’s best wine growing regions, El Sauzal and Tacoronte. You’ll discover the rich heritage and taste the wine of La Baranda House of Wine, located on a 17th-century estate. Then hop over to Bodegas Alvaro, which is said to boast the largest collection of wines in all of the Canaries, for more wine quaffing and tapas tasting.

Explore the breathtaking Corralejo Dunes Natural Park, home to the largest dunes in the Canaries. With plenty of free time, you can scale the sandy mounds or head to the white-sand beach to swim in the inviting, sapphire water. Afterwards you can maybe head into Caleta de Fuste where you can hit the shops. Stroll along the palm-shaded promenade and treat yourself to lunch at one of the many traditional restaurants overlooking the shore.

Southampton welcomes more than four million visitors each year and is easily accessible from major UK cities by rail, road and air. It’s entirely up to you. You might prefer to drive and park at or near the cruise terminal. Parking at the terminal needs to be pre-booked. Alternatively, why not hop on a coach or train and let someone else do the driving while you relax. And if you live further away, you could always fly into Southampton airport and grab a taxi to the terminal.
