Once you have chosen your preferred trip and ceremony date you will need to pay a 25% deposit (excluding the cost of any optional extras) to secure your booking. We need a minimum of four months notice to book a Ceremonies Sea and Shore package and two weeks notice for a Renewal of Vows. Our Terms and Conditions apply to all bookings and can be viewed here.

Your countdown to the big day

So that we know exactly what you want, we’ll send you a ceremony planning form approximately 160 days prior to your date. It's vital you complete and return this within 14 days to ensure that the marriage licence is granted and received by the ship in time. This is where you can let us know about all the optional extras you’ve chosen. If you book your ceremony later than the four-month mark, we’ll get your form sent over right away. From there, your wedding specialists will work their magic and make your dreams a reality.

The day of your cruise has finally arrived! Once you get on board, your on-board ceremony specialist will be in touch to arrange to meet with you to go over the details of your ceremony plan and ensure everything runs smoothly.

Logistics and FAQs

When you book a Ceremony at Sea, you’ll receive your application form up to 160 days before your holiday. It’s vital you complete and return this within 14 days to ensure that the marriage licence is granted and received by the ship in time. If you or your partner are divorced or widowed, we’ll need a copy of the final divorce decree or death certificate. If you’ve changed your name, we’ll need a copy of the deed poll. These documents have to be in English or otherwise translated into English by an approved translator before we can complete the legal formalities. We’ll need these documents, along with your photo IDs, 120 days prior to your wedding. Then, once we’ve taken final payment for the balance and extra touches, we’ll obtain the required marriage licence on your behalf.

Please note that two witnesses must be part of your wedding party. If you don’t have witnesses present, we can provide them for ceremonies on your ship or ashore.

Yes. It’s possible to have a Committal of ashes ceremony at sea, on cruises of five nights or more. You’ll require approval from the captain in advance of your cruise and there are some rules and exceptions. We do not assist with scatterings ashore and local approvals in the relevant country would apply.
