When you book a Ceremony at Sea, you’ll receive your application form up to 160 days before your holiday. It’s vital you complete and return this within 14 days to ensure that the marriage licence is granted and received by the ship in time. If you or your partner are divorced or widowed, we’ll need a copy of the final divorce decree or death certificate. If you’ve changed your name, we’ll need a copy of the deed poll. These documents have to be in English or otherwise translated into English by an approved translator before we can complete the legal formalities. We’ll need these documents, along with your photo IDs, 120 days prior to your wedding. Then, once we’ve taken final payment for the balance and extra touches, we’ll obtain the required marriage licence on your behalf.
Please note that two witnesses must be part of your wedding party. If you don’t have witnesses present, we can provide them for ceremonies on your ship or ashore.

Once you have chosen your preferred trip and ceremony date you will need to pay a 25% deposit (excluding the cost of any optional extras) to secure your booking. We need a minimum of four months notice to book a Ceremonies Sea and Shore package and two weeks notice for a Renewal of Vows. So that we know exactly what you want, we’ll send you a ceremony planning form approximately 160 days prior to your date. It's vital you complete and return this within 14 days to ensure that the marriage licence is granted and received by the ship in time. This is where you can let us know about all the optional extras you’ve chosen. If you book your ceremony later than the four-month mark, we’ll get your form sent over right away. From there, your wedding specialists will work their magic and make your dreams a reality.

Depending on which cruise you choose, you usually have at least one day at sea before you get to the first port. That means you have at least a full day at sea to get used to your ship and have as much fun as you can squeeze in.

How long does it take to get from Southampton to the first destination? 

Southampton welcomes more than four million visitors each year and is easily accessible from major UK cities by rail, road and air. It’s entirely up to you. You might prefer to drive and park at or near the cruise terminal. Parking at the terminal needs to be pre-booked. Alternatively, why not hop on a coach or train and let someone else do the driving while you relax. And if you live further away, you could always fly into Southampton airport and grab a taxi to the terminal.
