Setting off from the pier, your journey will take you towards the Waitakere Ranges, approximately 11 miles northwest of Auckland.
A stop will be made at the Arataki Centre which is perched high in the Waitakere Ranges. Here, on the sweeping decks, you can experience breath-taking panoramic views across the Tasman Sea to the Pacific Ocean. Absorb the local history and admire the magnificent traditional Maori carvings that stand guard there.
Heading further west, you’ll encounter the power of the wild and rugged west coast. Feel the soft, black sand beneath your feet as you stroll along the awe inspiring Piha Beach.
Afterwards, your drive will take you to the lush rain forest where you’ll take a steady walk through three quarters of mile of guided bush tracks. During your walk, you may be lucky enough to hear the native birdsong, and your constant companions are picturesque streams and giant tree ferns.
During your tour a tea, coffee, water or juice and sweet snack will be offered.
