Discover Bari
A panoramic drive to the city centre will show you Bari’s wonderful Swabian Castle, built for Frederick II. Shortly afterwards, your walking tour will begin and you’ll see the marvellous Gothic façade and wonderfully animated rose window of St Sabine’s Cathedral. You’ll visit the impressive Basilica of St Nicholas, the symbol of Bari, which houses the mortal remains of Saint Nicholas and is a masterpiece of Apulian-Romanesque architecture.
The narrow cobbled streets of the Old Town are a delight to explore. Enjoy the façades of the medieval buildings packed tightly into the small streets lined with quaint shops and bars, all emanating a heady atmosphere of local life. Some free time will be given for you to browse the Old Town shops or relax in a local café.
At the end of your guided tour you may wish to remain in the Old Town to explore further, or perhaps head to the many shops of Bari.
