Jungle Nature Trek
Sit back and relax on a scenic drive, passing through small villages as you head towards the Tangkoko Nature Reserve, one of Indonesia’s most important conservation areas. The reserve is located about 20 kilometres northwest of Bitung and is situated amongst rolling hills and valleys.
Upon your arrival at the reserve, you will be greeted by local forest rangers before embarking on your guided trek, in search of a variety of wildlife that can be observed roaming free in the jungle. Have your camera at the ready as you can often see the Black Crested Macaque (the black tailless monkeys) and the Tarsius Tarsier (the world’s smallest primate) as well as Maleo birds, wild pigs and kuskus (large-eyed marsupials).
At the end of your trek, you will reach a black sandy beach, where you will have some free time to relax on the beach or take a refreshing swim.
Enjoy an Indonesian snack box and soft drink refreshment, before re-boarding the bus for the leisurely drive back to your ship.
