Altun Ha Mayan Site and River Ride

Embark on a short transfer to where you’ll board your powerboat for an exhilarating 2 hour river ride along the Rio Wallace. Your captain will expertly manoeuvre along the waterway as your guide points out the interesting highlights within the lush tropical foliage and emerald water. 

Have your camera at the ready, as you're likely to see crocodiles, howler monkeys, iguanas, and a wide variety of birds. 

Upon arrival at the Iguana Stop, you’ll have some free time to shop for souvenirs or purchase a refreshment, before continuing on to the amazing Mayan ruins of Altun Ha. 

The Altun Ha site is set in a lush rainforest. Once a thriving city and trade centre, you’ll walk amongst the 13 structures that surround 3 plazas and its 60-foot Temple of the Sun God. For a panoramic vantage point and photo opportunities, climb up the steps to the tops of 3 main temples on the site and capture the views of the surrounding countryside.
