Get kitted up in protective gear, hop into a large high-speed RIB boat and feel the rush as you zip through stunning landscapes to Saltstraumen. At this incredible natural wonder, witness up to 400 million cubic metres of seawater surging through a narrow channel, three kilometres long and 1.5 kilometres wide, causing huge swirling whirlpools (or maelstroms). Watch for sea eagles and the 250-million-year-old Caledonian Fold Belt mountainside along the way. Then, at the Saltstraumen Visitor Centre, hit the road for a scenic drive through Bodø’s beautiful surroundings. Half your group will start with the road panorama and return by RIB.
