Enjoy a drive to the lush tablelands of Kuranda for a visit to the Rainforestation Nature Park. Board your amphibious Army Duck, an unusual mode of travel that complements the beauty of the forest with its open view accompanied by the knowledgeable commentary of your ‘Duck Captain’. The flora, fauna and general ecology of this World Heritage Rainforest will both fascinate and impress you. Your Army Duck will then take to the water for a cruise alongside the jungle, so keep watch for the variety of life that resides in this fascinating environment.
Back on land, you will have the chance to relax in the bush Amphitheatre as you watch The Aboriginal Pamagirri Corroboree; a traditional Aboriginal dance performance depicting aspects of indigenous culture including animals, food gathering and hunting. The beautiful, natural backdrop of the rainforest serves as the theatre walls whilst sounds of wildlife provide accompaniment to the haunting sounds of the didgeridoo and clapsticks. Afterwards, take a stroll down the Dreamtime Walk where you will witness demonstrations of didgeridoo playing, boomerang and spear throwing.
