Wonderful West Lofoten and Lunch
Discover some of the region’s most picturesque scenery and find out about the fascinating fishing industry of the Lofoten Islands.
Head to one of Norway’s most beautiful villages, Reine, on a panoramic drive passing astounding white-sand beaches and imposing mountains. Admire the little red-and-white fishermen's houses and marvel at the stark granite peaks rising from the Reinefjord. Appreciate the works by famous Norwegian artists in the Reine Centre of Arts and Culture and perhaps browse the gift shop for a souvenir.
At the Stockfish Museum in the tiny village of Å (which means ‘river’), gain an insight into the modern processes for drying and preparing fish for export. By now you’ll likely be keen to try the catch, so it’s ideal timing to sit down at a local venue with views over the bay to enjoy a Norwegian buffet-style lunch. Tuck into a variety of delicious dishes, including several from the sea, before you head back to your ship via a photo stop on the Flakstad Strand – a famously beautiful spot.
