A Journey to the Centre of the Earth

Soak up vistas of Iceland’s unspoilt wilderness on your ride to Vatnshellir Cave, in the heart of Snæfellsjökull National Park. At the entrance, your friendly guide will kit you out with a helmet with torch, before you head into the subterranean wonderland. You’ll hear all about the geology, history and folklore associated with the 8,000-year-old cave, as you admire the intriguing lava formations and colourful volcanic rock. Then delve deeper and descend a spiral staircase to the lower level, 35 metres below the surface! At the bottom, the lights will go off and you’ll experience the exciting sensation of total darkness.
