You’ll tour the Roman amphitheatre, which once held chariot races and ferocious battles for 20,000 spectators. Used for bullfights today, this amazing structure held an entire town in the Middle Ages, including 200 homes.
You’ll also see the 17th-century Town Hall, the 5th-century St Trophime Church, and the Roman obelisk in Republic Square. Then you’ll have some free time to explore before lunch in a nearby restaurant.
A short ride through more spectacular countryside, will take you to Les Baux de Provence. Dating back to 6,000 BC, this village is located on a dramatic, bare rock spur and dominated by an impressive ruined castle. After a guided walk, you’ll have some free time to explore the cobbled lanes and artisan workshops.
