Designed for Cornelius Vanderbilt II, ‘The Breakers’, described as one of the grandest Newport cottages, is an Italian Renaissance palace. It's most opulent and magnificent feature is the Grand Hall. The Music Room was originally constructed in France from beautifully carved stone and marble and re-assembled here.
