Harlem’s role in the history of jazz and noted jazz musicians gave New York its musical edge.

As you arrive into Harlem, you’ll enjoy a sightseeing drive of the neighbourhoods associated with jazz and blues. See the original Cotton Club where Duke Ellington and Lena Horne spent many hours wowing crowds from around the world.You’ll also drive past the site of the Savoy Ballroom where Benny Goodman and Chick Webb fought it out during their ‘Battle of the Bands’, and where the ‘Charleston,’ ‘Lindy Hop’ and the ‘Big Apple’ dances were firmly cemented into American culture. A short stop will be made at 125th Street to view the exterior of the world famous Apollo Theatre, where Sarah Vaughan and Ella Fitzgerald once appeared.Today the theatre still boasts standing room only audiences.

Afterwards, you’ll head to the ‘Cotton Club’ venue to enjoy a drink and dinner, as you listen to the sounds of a jazz or rhythm and blues band.
