You’ll join your local guide at the pier and take a walk to the subway station in midtown Manhattan. The New York subway network is said to be the largest in the world by its number of stations in operation and is also one of the oldest. It keeps the city moving and is the busiest rail system in the United States.

Your subway ride will take you to the West 4th Street / Washington Square station in the neighbourhood of Greenwich Village, a favourite weekend destination with New Yorkers. A walking tour of the area involves a stroll around Washington Square and on to Bleecker Street. Here, you’ll make several stops along the way to sample a variety of New York specialities such as a slice of the best thin crust pizza, a tasty rice ball, crispy cannoli and a scrumptious cupcake.

During your walking tour, your guide will enlighten you on the history, culture and architecture of the area and you’ll also discover the old Italian neighbourhood, hidden gardens and even the narrowest house in New York. If time permits, there will also be an opportunity to enjoy some free time on Bleecker Street.

As your walk draws to an end, you’ll board a minibus for the return drive to the pier.
