Visit the Owls Head Transportation Museum, home to a landmark collection of antique aircraft, automobiles, motorcycles, carriages, bicycles and engines. The collection features a replica of the Wright Brothers’ Kitty Hawk Flyer as well as many other vintage airplanes and cars. This fine collection is maintained in operating condition and during your visit you’ll have the opportunity to take a short ride in a Ford Model T! Explore the evolution of wing and wheel, from gliders to WW1 fighters, including the Red Baron’s famous Red Fokker Triplane.

Enjoy a scenic drive to the nearby Owls Head Lighthouse to take in Maine’s beautiful rocky coast. The Lighthouse was first commissioned by President John Quincy Adams in 1825 due to the growing lime trade and subsequent shipping traffic in Rockland Harbour. You’ll have the option to take a short ten minute walk to the base of the lighthouse for a closer look at its exterior, before the return drive back to the pier.
