The Top of Denmark
Denmark's most northerly town, Skagen, is proud and pretty. The charming fishermen's houses are painted a warm yellow with white trim and red roofs, and their gardens are beautifully tended. More curious attractions include the Buried Church, an old chapel that's been consumed by the dunes to the point where the tower is all that's visible. There is plenty to see at the Skagen Museum of Local History which showcases buildings from three distinct architectural periods in Skagen’s history. Don’t miss a trip on the ‘Sandormen’, a tractor-driven bus that takes you to the northernmost tip of the European continent.
