Experience the magnificent sights and thunderous sounds of Iguassu Falls, the world’s largest waterfall system. Situated on the triple frontier of Brazil, Argentina and Paraguay, the three-kilometre falls are made up of over 275 different vertical drops.
DAY ONE: Salvador
Following disembarkation in Salvador, head into the UNESCO-listed Pelourinho neighbourhood for a walking tour through Salvador's historic centre. While soaking up the unique charm of Bahian culture, you’ll visit a string of sights, including Terreiro de Jesus square and more.
After a delicious lunch of traditional Bahian cuisine in a local restaurant, you’ll go to the Port of Barra, where the first Portuguese settlers arrived, and explore the Barra Lighthouse farther down the coast. Then visit the modern side of Salvador, make a photo stop at the Dique do Tororó Lagoon, and visit the important religious site of Igreja do Bonfim.
Enjoy some free time shopping for local handicrafts in the city's main craft market, Mercado Modelo, before checking into Hotel Fasano Salvador. You’ll have some leisure time before dinner in the hotel.
DAY TWO: Salvador – Sao Paulo – Iguassu
After breakfast in your hotel, take a panoramic tour of the city that finishes at the airport, where you’ll catch your flight to Iguassu, via São Paulo. A boxed lunch will be provided during your transfer.
After arriving in Iguassu, go straight to Chef Fabio’s House for a special gourmet dinner experience, which is famous for innovative dishes and exceptional, local and international flavours.
Then check into the Belmond das Cataratas Hotel – the only hotel located within the Iguassu National Park in Brazil. Not only is this hotel just a short walk from the sensational waterfalls, but it also offers guests exclusive access to this magnificent sight in the evening and at dawn, when the park is closed to other visitors.
DAY THREE: Iguassu
After breakfast in your hotel, hop on a bus for a short ride to the Argentine side of the Iguassu National Park before ascending by train. Here, the park offers an exciting chance to get just a few steps away from the thundering cascades, so be prepared to get wet from the spray that rises from the falls. You’ll walk along impressive catwalks that stretch across the islands of the delta, leading to the main balcony on the most spectacular fall – Devil's Throat – which drops over 80 metres into the gorge.
Relax over lunch in the Aqva Restaurant in Puerto Iguazu, before heading to the Three Borders Landmark (Marco das Três Fronteiras), where Brazil, Argentina and Paraguay meet. Marvel at the stunning views of the rivers and surrounding countries from this scenic viewpoint, and enjoy the rich cultural and historical experience it offers.
Afterwards, return to your hotel for dinner.
DAY FOUR: Iguassu
Enjoy breakfast in your hotel before exploring the Brazilian side of the falls, where you’ll find spectacular panoramic views from a circuit of walkways that face the falls. The falls are the heart of the UNESCO-declared Foz do Iguaçu National Park, which is also a vast tropical forest and home to a wide array of wildlife, including monkeys, crocodiles and jaguars, as well as rare birds like macaws, toucans and parrots.
Then prepare to be amazed by the sheer power and beauty of the falls as you embark on an exciting adventure – the Macuco Safari. Hop on a boat and go right to the foot of the Iguaçu Falls! Feel the refreshing mist and heart-pounding excitement as you navigate the rushing waters – it’s an unforgettable way to experience one of the world’s most iconic waterfalls.
Afterwards, tuck into lunch at the Ipê Restaurant in the hotel. Spend the afternoon at your leisure.
In addition to the falls, this natural paradise also offers thrills and excitement in abundance, with white water rafting, helicopter trips over the gorge, and jungle treks to view amazing wildlife, which includes colourful toucans and giant butterflies.
As evening approaches, attend a spectacular dinner and show at Rafain Churrascaria. In addition to a delectable BBQ, you’ll be treated to a folkloric musical show that takes you on a journey around Latin America, with dynamic, traditional dances from Argentina (tango, bloeaderas, malambo, milonga), Brazil (samba, chorinho, bossa nova), and Paraguay (harpa, botellas, guaranias).
Return to your hotel.
DAY FIVE: Iguassu – Sao Paulo – Rio de Janeiro
After breakfast in your hotel, check out and fly to Rio de Janeiro, via São Paulo, and rejoin your waiting ship. A boxed lunch will be provided during your hotel checkout.
