The green island of Djurgården is known as the city’s amusement centre and is home to a number of popular attractions. Will you buy a ticket to the Vasa Museum – to see the magnificent 17th-century warship? Or perhaps you’ll choose ABBA The Museum, an acclaimed interactive journey through the story of the beloved Swedish group. If you’d rather enjoy the outdoors, simply take a stroll through the island’s lush gardens.

Soak up the atmosphere in Gamla Stan (the Old Town), a maze of winding cobbled streets lined with handsome buildings in various styles. Marvel at the baroque Royal Palace or follow your map to Stortorget, the Great Square, to admire the 18th-century Stock Exchange Building. You could also head over to the city centre where you’ll find a host of cafés in the Kungsträdgården park, and the famous department stores NK and Åhlens for those holiday souvenirs.
