Tamaki Maori Village

If you'd like to know more about the Maori culture, then this tour is for you. Your adventure begins with a coach ride across beautiful countryside to the Tamaki Maori Village via Rotorua. The village is an award-winning cultural venue which has been designed to offer an insight into the Maori way of life.

Your local guide will meet you upon arrival and will talk you through what you are about to see, and explain some of the history and protocols of what will happen when you enter this sacred village. You’ll be greeted at the gates by a traditional welcome ceremony, before enjoying a colourful Maori performance, accompanied by the sound of ancient Maori instruments.

Afterwards, a delicious lunch will be served in the Maori ‘hangi’ style which includes ‘hangi’ baskets laden with seasonal meats and vegetables pulled from a pit. Enjoy a farewell song and speeches, before the return drive to Tauranga.
