Lace up your walking shoes and follow the manmade boardwalk into the heart of the mysterious Viru Bog territory. Hike through soaring woodlands and pass over bog pools that vary from a couple meters across, to several hundred. Gaze into the dark coloured waters and learn about this ever-evolving landscape that formed over 5,000 years ago. Then, after climbing the watchtower at the trail’s centre, you’ll be amazed at the size of the bog, with far-reaching views in every direction. Afterwards, discover why Käsmu is called the ‘captains village’ during a coffee break in the Käsmu Maritime Museum.
