Take in the sensational views of this forest-clad island as you head towards Sandnessund Bridge. Spanning over 4,000 feet, it connects the island of Tromsøya with Kvaløya (or ‘Whale Island’), home to a modern suburb set against a spectacular mountain backdrop.

Pass by the Northern Lights Planetarium and wonderful Tromsdalen Church, known as the Arctic Cathedral. Completed in 1965, this striking building dominates the skyline with its majestic peaks and soaring stained-glass window.
