Departing the pier, you’ll have a photo stop at the Piazza Unitá d'Italia, the main square of Trieste and one of the largest in Europe. This square hosts some of the city's most important buildings, all of which have beautiful architecture from bygone times. Continue your panoramic drive past the Roman Theatre, the Greek Orthodox Church and Ponte Rosso Canal on your way to the top of the Hill of St Giusto. Admire the Cathedral of the same name before proceeding on a coastal road lined with white cliffs plunging into the sea and small glistening bays and beaches.
You’ll pass the castle of Miramare, a small fortress built on rocky spurs that drop into the sea and overlooks the tiny harbour of Grignano.
Some photo-stops along the way will allow you to admire wonderful views over the city and its gulf.
