Allergens disclaimer

At  P&O Cruises, we are committed to maintaining high standards of food safety and allergen awareness. While our onboard galleys and kitchens follow strict procedures to reduce the risk of cross-contamination, please note that our food preparation areas are not allergen-free.

We implement rigorous processes to manage food safety risks. However, some ingredients may be obtained from international suppliers whose manufacturing practices and capture / labelling of allergen information may differ from UK standards. For example, certain allergens required to be declared in the UK (such as celery, mustard, lupin, molluscs, and sulphites) may not be identified in supplier documentation from countries with different regulatory requirements.

Additionally, certain ingredients carry “may contain” labels due to possible exposure to allergens during production. We make every reasonable effort to obtain accurate and comprehensive allergen information from our suppliers, including "may contain" statements. However, for certain allergens, this information may not be available despite our best efforts to obtain it. As a result, certain dishes may still contain traces of allergens, and we cannot guarantee that any dish is 100% free from trace allergens.

Where allergen cross-contamination risk (including precautionary allergen labelling (PAL) such as "may contain") cannot be confirmed due to limitations in supplier information, we document these instances and proceed in line with industry-standard risk management practices. This may include publishing product data without PAL declarations, based on our assessment of supplier reliability and available evidence.

We strongly encourage guests with food allergies or intolerances to speak with a member of our team prior to booking your holiday and ordering food, so we can provide the most accurate and helpful information. It is up to the Guest’s discretion to make an informed choice based upon their individual dietary needs.
