How P&O Cruises supports your dietary requirements

We want to make incredible holiday experiences available to everyone. To ensure all guests can enjoy the delicious food included on board, here’s how we cater for your needs.

Dietary requirements we can cater for

Allergens disclaimer

At  P&O Cruises, we are committed to maintaining high standards of food safety and allergen awareness. While our onboard galleys and kitchens follow strict procedures to reduce the risk of cross-contamination, please note that our food preparation areas are not allergen-free.

When booking your holiday

We accommodate a wide range of dietary needs as standard, including vegetarian and vegan.

If you have any food allergies, we need you to tell us at least 28 days before your holiday.

If you require kosher or baby food, we need a minimum of 12 weeks’ notice.

Please contact our Customer Contact Centre to let us know.

Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and pescatarian: We cater for vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and pescatarian diets as standard. You only need to tell us about these specific requirements if you’ve booked a fly-cruise directly with us that includes a flight where you’ll be served a meal. This is so we can ensure the airline caters for you. If you’ve booked a flight independently, you’ll need to let the airline know of any dietary needs.

Kosher meals: Once you’ve told us that you require kosher food, we’ll send you a list of pre-prepared meals we have available. Please choose what you’d like and return the list to us as soon as possible. Your chosen meals will then be available for you to select each day when you’re on board. If you book a holiday less than 12 weeks before departure, we won’t be able to provide kosher meals. We do offer a wide range of vegetarian and fish dishes on board, but we understand these may not meet all kosher requirements. Please note, we don’t have a separate kosher kitchen on board.

Baby food: Hipp Organic baby food jars (6+ months and 7+ months only) are available for babies. Please contact us to request this option at least 12 weeks before the start of your holiday. If you book a holiday departing sooner than that, or if you forget to tell us you need baby food, you’re welcome to bring your own. All items need to be fully sealed with the original labels, with expiry dates beyond the end of your holiday, and must be easily accessible during check-in when going through security.

If your dietary requirements aren’t listed above, please read through our FAQs for more information. If you’re still not sure if your needs can be catered for on board, please contact us. We’ll do our best to accommodate your needs and we’ll send you an email (typically within five days) to let you know if we can cater for your dietary requirements.

If there are any changes to your dietary requirements or allergies, please contact us as soon as possible.

On board your ship

We’re delighted to provide peace of mind through tailored menu options. We’ll always do our very best to accommodate everyone’s needs on board.

You’ll receive a welcome letter in your cabin inviting you to meet the Food and Beverage team. During this meeting, you’ll have the chance to talk with them about food safety during your holiday, gain advice on which restaurants to eat at, and find out how to pre-order your meals. We’ll be happy to organise and book dining for you in the Freedom and Club restaurants or make any reservations for the speciality restaurants. Guests with severe allergies are advised to use the included Freedom and Club restaurants to further minimise the risk of cross-contamination.

In the meantime, here’s some information we’d like you to know, which will be explained in more detail when you meet the Food and Beverage team on board.

Lunch and dinner for your first day on board has been pre-ordered on your behalf to ensure your requirements are met. We'll let you know which restaurant to go to on the day.

It's your responsibility to pre-order all your meals and allow us to make the necessary preparations; this includes all meals and afternoon tea.

Room service has a list of all guests’ dietary requirements and allergies.

Flights

For long-haul flights, we can accommodate the following requirements: vegan, vegetarian, diabetic, gluten free, children’s menu.

We can’t accommodate requirements that fall outside of this list, so we suggest you organise your own food or flights.

For short or medium-haul flights, we can’t accommodate any special requirements as food on the plane can be bought only from the airline.
