We know that one of the things that matters most when you’re away is being able to stay in touch with friends and family. We also know that you expect a simple and good-value internet service to help you do just that.

Whether you’re in port or on the high seas, we want to help you stay connected on your travels. That’s why we’ve made some changes to our satellite internet across the entire fleet to bring you flexible, focused, always-on satellite internet packages designed around how you browse.

Our all-new packages give you satellite internet access 24/7*. And because you choose what works for you, it’s great value for money. You’ll be able to choose from three packages depending on your browsing needs – The Connect Package, The Browse Package and The Works – and all plans are available in either a 24‐hour, whole cruise, or remainder of the cruise duration. Plus, you can upgrade at any time.

Your package, your needs

Data usage within each package is unlimited, but services that can be accessed will depend on the package you choose

The Connect Package (£7.75 for 24 hours) is a simple and popular way to stay in touch with family and friends while you’re on holiday. You’ll be able to get your social media fix with access to social media services including WhatsApp, Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter and Instagram.

The Browse Package (£12.50 for 24 hours) provides the same access as The Connect Package, but with added web-based email browsing (such as Gmail and Outlook), as well as general browsing on search engines such as Google.

For those guests looking for the full browsing experience, The Works (£24.95 for 24 hours) provides all of the above, as well as app downloads and updates, streaming of Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, and internet calling services such as Skype and FaceTime

It’s worth bearing in mind that satellite internet will be slower than browsing at home as the signals have to travel thousands of miles to reach the satellites in space. Weather and the ship’s position can also occasionally impact on the signal. We do our best to manage the connections, however speed will vary and intensive activities like streaming content may not work at all times or may be excluded from certain plans.

Once on board, just log on to the ship’s Wi-­Fi to get connected. Almost any device that can connect to Wi-­Fi can be used on board our ships. Make sure that the Wi-­Fi is turned on and then connect to the ship’s Wi-­Fi network, which should show up automatically.

Calling home

While you’re at sea, you’ll still be able to use your mobile phone to make and receive calls, as well as send text messages and photos. Signal strength will vary, but you should be able to use your phone as usual. You’ll see Telenor Maritime or 90112 on your display, indicating that you’re using International Maritime Roaming. Costs of calls will be added to your mobile bill, not your on-board account. Please check with your service provider for costs.

Cabin phones can be used to call other cabins on board as well as friends and family back home. To make a call from your cabin telephone, simply press the ship to shore button and follow the voice prompts. To call the UK, dial the full STD number as you would in the UK. For international calls, dial 00 + country code, area code, omitting the 0, and number. Calls are charged at £2.49 per minute and will be added to your on-board account.
