Visit the Nanshan Cultural Park and see the most famous Buddhist Temple in the Hainan Province.

Board your coach and enjoy a leisurely coach ride to the Nanshan Cultural Resort, located 24 miles southwest of Sanya City in Hainan Province. The beauty of Nanshan Mountain makes this a principal eco-tourism zone and the area also boasts a profound Buddhist influence. It features 3 parks called The Buddhism Culture Park, The Blessing & Longevity Park and The Hainan Custom Culture Park.

Upon arrival at the resort, you will catch a tram to see the Guanyin Statue of Hainan. This statue is a 350 feet tall, 3-sided statue of the bodhisattva Guan Yin and is the 3rd tallest statue in the world.

Visit the Nanshan Temple, the most famous Buddhist temple in Hainan Province. The Temple boasts several replicas of Tang Dynasty architecture and is encircled by mountains and faces the South China Sea.

On the way back to the ship, visit the Pearl Culture Museum to learn about the process of cultivating this precious gem.

This excursion will operate by coach and on foot. The drive to the Nanshan Cultural Resort is approximately 1 hour each way. There is approximately 1 hour of walking involved on the tour, including some steps and inclined surfaces. The order of sights at the Cultural Resort may vary.

Chinese Minority Village

Find out about the native Hainan people by visiting an authentic minority village.

Located approximately 20 miles from Sanya City is an authentic local ethnic minority village where you will have the chance to experience a folklore show by the Chiyou ethnic minority group.

This interesting cultural site introduces you to the native Hainan people. It is located at Ganzhaling Hill and is part of the Ganshi Ridge National Natural Reserve adjacent to the Ridge Qixianling Hot Spring National Forest Park. The Reserve consists of 3 parts - the Primitive Li Village, the Ecological Miao Village and the tropical rain forest. It is an important attraction in the Hainan Province.

Following your visit to the village, you will be taken to a local restaurant, where you’ll sample a traditional Hainan-style lunch.

A visit will be made to the Pearl Culture Museum on the way back to your ship to learn about the process of cultivating this precious gem.

Leisurely Sanya

Setting off from the ship, you’ll head to Luhuitou Park (which literally means ‘deer looking backwards’) located high on a hill overlooking Sanya. The Park lies from northeast to west and then turns north westward in the shape of a deer looking backwards. Sweeping vistas and a panoramic view of the whole city and the South China Sea can be enjoyed from this Park.

Dadonghai, one of the most popular seaside areas in Hainan Province, is just a short distance from downtown Sanya, located between Mount Tuziwei and Mount Luhuitou. It boasts a crescent-shaped mile-long beach and clear blue sea. Sunshine, white sand and green trees create a beautiful place for swimming and sunbathing. Enjoy some free time to walk around Dadonghai Square or enjoy some seaside activities on your own.

On the way back to your ship, visit the Pearl Culture Museum to learn about the process of cultivating this precious gem. See the operation of removing pearls from the oysters and try to guess how many pearls will be in a single oyster.
